Elite Negotiator Team Index
What It Measures

A multi-dimensional view of negotiation behaviour.

The Elite Negotiator Index™ model evaluates negotiation-relevant behavioural patterns across 12 dimensions. Each dimension captures a distinct aspect of how you negotiate.

1

Assertiveness

How forcefully and directly you pursue your own interests and objectives.

2

Power Orientation

Your focus on controlling the process, outcomes, and leverage in a negotiation.

3

Value Creation

Your tendency to expand the pie and seek mutual-gain solutions rather than merely dividing existing value.

4

Influence Capability

Your skill in using eight negotiation-specific influence capabilities — credibility, relational connection, exchange, social validation, commitment, opportunity framing, identity alignment, and reference-point framing.

5

Relationship Orientation

The importance you place on building and maintaining trust and rapport with counterparts.

6

Principles Orientation

The degree to which you are guided by fairness, consistency, and defensible reasoning.

7

Negotiation Discipline

Your tendency to approach negotiations in a structured, prepared, and process-conscious manner.

8

Strategic Adaptability

Your ability to read a situation and deploy the right strategy from a diverse repertoire.

9

Emotional Intelligence

Your ability to perceive, understand, regulate, and use emotions effectively in negotiation.

10

Pressure Resilience

How well you maintain your composure, judgment, and ethical standards when the stakes rise.

11

Results Orientation

Your drive to achieve measurable commercial outcomes and win the target result.

12

Ethical Boundary Stability

The stability of your ethical boundaries — your resistance to questionable tactics, especially under pressure.

Important: How to Interpret Dimension Scores

  • •Dimensions are not population percentiles. A score of 70 does not mean you scored higher than 70% of people.
  • •A higher score is not automatically better. A lower score is not automatically worse.
  • •Interpretation depends on pattern, context and interaction with other dimensions — not on any single score in isolation.
  • •Dimension scores are developmental indicators, designed to guide self-awareness and targeted practice.
From Dimensions to Archetypes

Your profile is more than 12 scores.

Dimension scores form the foundation. Archetype calculations integrate multiple relevant dimensions to identify recurring negotiation patterns. Your primary and secondary archetypes are ranked from calculated scores — not selected subjectively.

1

Persuasive Strategist

Change the way the counterpart sees the deal.

2

Trusted Influencer

Persuade from a base of trust.

3

Relationship Builder

Protect the relationship while moving the deal.

4

Commercial Closer

Drive the outcome. Close with structure.

5

Calibrated Challenger

Press hard. Stay controlled.

6

Pressure Master

Stay effective when the stakes rise.

7

Adaptive Navigator

Change the approach without losing the objective.

8

Value Creator

Design value before dividing it.

9

Principled Negotiator

Make the deal defensible.

10

Deal Architect

Structure the deal. Switch the approach.

11

Leverage Strategist

Map the leverage. Switch the approach.

12

Negotiation Integrator

Use the right capability for the situation.

Some profiles are clear. Others are blended.

The separation between your leading archetype patterns determines whether your profile is clearly differentiated, moderately differentiated, or blended.

1

Clearly Differentiated

A clear gap between the leading archetype and the next. The profile has a dominant pattern.

2

Moderately Differentiated

A moderate gap. The leading pattern is present but a secondary pattern is also meaningfully expressed.

3

Blended

A small gap. No single pattern dominates — the profile draws on a balanced repertoire.

Close archetype scores may produce a blended profile — this is a legitimate pattern, not a limitation.

Under Pressure

Negotiation behaviour can change under pressure.

The system does not assume that normal-state behaviour remains constant under pressure. A dedicated pressure section compares baseline responses with pressure-condition responses to identify how your negotiation behaviour shifts when the stakes rise.

Pressure Stabilizer

Behaviour tends to remain steady or become more controlled under pressure.

Pressure Amplifier

Behaviour tends to intensify — more assertive, more direct — under pressure.

Pressure Erosion

Behaviour tends to gradually shift away from baseline as pressure persists.

Pressure Collapse

Behaviour tends to shift significantly from baseline under pressure.

Pressure Split

Pressure produces divergent responses across related dimensions.

Pressure Converger

Pressure causes previously distinct dimensions to converge toward a single mode.

Pressure Crystallizer

Pressure causes a latent pattern to crystallize into a clearer expression.

Pressure categories describe behavioural patterns, not performance quality. A pressure pattern is not a verdict — it is a starting point for development.

Ethical Boundary Stability

Ethical Boundary Stability requires extra care.

  • •It is one of the 12 Elite Negotiator Index™ dimensions — a measure of the stability of your ethical boundaries, especially under pressure.
  • •It is developmental, not a moral label. It does not diagnose honesty or integrity.
  • •It does not predict misconduct. A lower score indicates a development area, not a character judgment.
  • •It receives additional privacy protection in Elite Negotiator Team Index. Aggregate Elite Negotiator Team Index does not surface it as a team score.
Question Architecture

Why a comprehensive assessment?

The complete Elite Negotiator Index™ assessment is a comprehensive multi-part instrument across the full framework. Depth comes from the structure of the model and the integration of multiple behavioural dimensions — not from question count alone.

Connected Specialist Assessments

Integrated Elite Negotiator Index™ dimensions

Answer reuse: Relevant responses are reused bidirectionally across Elite Negotiator Index™ and the Specialist Assessments. You do not answer the same assessment question twice.

Progressive completion: Completing Specialist Assessments first can significantly reduce what remains to complete. Your existing answers carry forward automatically into Elite Negotiator Index™.

One question bank. Multiple levels of interpretation.

Elite Negotiator Index™ and the six Specialist Assessments draw from the same structured question bank — but produce different interpretive products.

Elite Negotiator Index™

Integrated breadth — the full 12-dimension profile, archetype pattern, pressure analysis and development priorities in one report.

Specialist Assessments

Domain-specific depth — focused reports on negotiation style, influence, ethical risk, emotional intelligence, interpersonal needs, and motivation & conflict.

Answer reuse is bidirectional: specialist responses roll into DNA, and DNA-enriched responses can inform specialist reports. The reports are different interpretive products even where questions overlap.

Quality Layer

Not every completed assessment enters analytics in the same way.

A dedicated quality layer evaluates each completed assessment across multiple indicators — completion integrity, response variance, internal consistency and completion-time plausibility — and assigns an Assessment Confidence classification.

HIGH

Strong response quality. Fully eligible for all analytics and calibration.

ACCEPTABLE

Adequate response quality. Eligible for standard analytics and calibration.

CAUTION

Reduced confidence. May be included in expanded analytics at the organization's discretion, but excluded from default calibration.

LOW

Insufficient response quality. Excluded from aggregate analytics and calibration.

Quality controls determine whether an assessment is fully eligible, cautionary, or excluded from certain aggregate analytics. Anti-gaming thresholds and internal detection formulas are not publicly disclosed.

Determinism

The same inputs produce the same outputs.

Engine 3.1 is deterministic. The same eligible response set, processed under the same frozen engine version, produces the same calculated profile — every time.

Interpretation text is presentation-layer content. The underlying scoring, ranking and archetype assignment is deterministic and reproducible.

Elite Negotiator Index™ does not use AI to generate assessment scores. Scores are calculated through a fixed, versioned scoring engine.

Empirical Calibration

Production-ready. Empirical calibration in progress.

These claims require evidence we do not yet have. We will update this page as empirical calibration progresses.

Empirical Calibration Framework

The platform includes an empirical calibration framework that monitors model health as real respondent data accumulates. The framework tracks:

Eligible calibration sample
Respondent feedback
Profile-fit feedback
Review gates
Model-review records
Version tracking

Internal review thresholds and admin routes are not publicly exposed. No respondent data is exposed on this page.

Team Index Methodology

From individual profiles to collective intelligence.

  • The Team Index uses eligible individual assessment outputs as its source — not raw responses.
  • •Retake deduplication is applied so that intentional retakes do not double-count a participant.
  • •Aggregation occurs only after quality and privacy rules are applied.
  • •Team reporting requires a minimum of 5 eligible profiles for aggregate analytics.
  • •Reports are aggregate and anonymized — no individual scores or rankings are shown.
  • •Ethical Boundary Stability is suppressed at the aggregate team level and is not surfaced as a team score.
  • •The Team Index considers average, variation and pattern — not just the mean.
  • •The Team Index may generate development and training implications based on aggregate patterns.

Important

Team averages are not population benchmarks. They describe this cohort only.

Important

The Team Index does not prove training causality. Reassessment comparisons show patterns, not cause-and-effect.

What the Team Index Does Not Do

✕Rank employees
✕Identify "best negotiators"
✕Predict commercial performance
✕Diagnose personality disorders
✕Establish causality
✕Serve as a hiring test
✕Expose individual ethical scores
Versioning

A versioned assessment engine.

Current Production Engine

3.1

Version Control

Reports retain engine and version information where relevant. Changes to scoring or methodology are version controlled.

Historical Report Integrity

A report generated under an earlier frozen engine remains associated with that engine version. New engine releases do not silently rewrite historical respondent results. Historical assessments retain their original release reference.

Transparent about the model. Protective of the engine.
